Last week, as we celebrated the kiddos 4th birthday, they were in heaven. They ate cake like it was going outta style, got to see the inside of Auntie Julis' tv studio (click here for tv link), graduated to the "BIG kids" gym, AND even got new beds. Life is good in the McNulty house!

Since we moved into our house last year, we have been improving each room little by little. The new beds were the kids' birthday gift and long over due (big thank you to Grandma Deb, Papa John, and Muzzie!). Conor and cousin Luke put them together on Sunday and they are working out great. You've gotta love IKEA!

Men at work... with a little help.

We separated Russ from the girls about 6 months ago when we received the hand-me-down bunk bed from my cousins Sam and Joey. He's been a very happy camper ever since and has not wanted to move back in with the girls. I can't say I blame him! Anyway, he was THRILLED to inherit the "boy bed," and I even draped it in his favorite color..

Just like a BIG BOY!
(now...to paint those walls)

Ready to catch some ZZZZZZZZZZzzz's!

I hope your week is off to a great start! The kiddos are keeping me busy and I'm starting to feel like myself again! Woohoo! I feel like I have so much to blog about and I'm trying to catch up one thing at a time.

Looks like they had a fun birthday party.
ReplyDeleteTheir beds are great.
So glad you are feeling better. Still praying for you.
XOXO
Happy birthday you cuties!
ReplyDeleteRuss, Russ, Russ... Buddy, you melt my heart with that grin!
how fun! How do they do with bunk beds? we may need to eventually do that with the boys but I'm not sure who I'd trust up top when the time comes! ha! that's a long fall!
ReplyDeleteglad they had a great birthday!
Glad they are all havign fun. WOW 4, soon it will be 5 and suddenly you won't know what to do with yourself.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy this last wonderful year with them at home, look forward to reading all about your adventures
So glad they had a great B-Day. The beds look great, but how do you decide who sleeps on the top bunk? Sherri
ReplyDeleteWhat a great week for them! We LOVE IKEA in our house too. Everytime we go out of town and know we'll be in the near vicinity of an IKEA, we bring our trailer. The only thing that surprised me after we got the boys loft beds was how hard it was to see them anymore when I checked them before I went to bed....pain in the rear..and changing the sheets? Oy..pain in the neck AND rear! Looks like they are so thrilled with their new digs!
ReplyDeletewhat a fantastic birthday gift! i am so glad you all had a great day (and that you are feelng so well, Gen!)

Thanks for the sweet comments everyone!
ReplyDeleteIt was a great week and the kids LOVE telling everyone they are "4 years old!" LOL
To answer the questions..
The bunk beds work out great for us. I was nervous when we first got the wooden one but the kids proved they were ready and minded us well. So, I knew another set of bunks would work out just fine. Also, they don't play in their rooms, only sleep.
How did we decide who sleeps where? .. We let them choose! Libby is a nimble little monkey and the top fits her well! Molly is a toss and turn sleeper so the queen bottom bunk is like her personal heaven. Ally loves having her "own bed." As for Russ... he can't decided and has been alternating from the top to the bottom bunk. He cracks us up.
I love you and your precious little kids!!! Libby, I love the top bunk, can I sleep with you when I come to Cali?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the girls new bunk beds! I may just have to go get lost inside IKEA & buy ours one! LOL!
ReplyDeleteLove, Cathy & her quads
Saw you guys (in the beginning) on GoodDay! My husband couldn't figure out why I "tuned" him out that morning.LOL. You do the TV role so well Gen!
ReplyDeleteBTW... We have that same wood bunk bed set and that thing is HUGE! Are you having that problem? And with the side drawers, they'll never hold my kids stuff!
ReplyDeleteSo fun to see that video clip!!! Great idea to have them eat breakfast during the "interview". Russell is such a little man...can't be bothered while he is eating! :)
