Quote Of The Day

I thought we could ALL use a smile this morning...

Last night I was trying to decide what to cook for dinner. I walked over to Ally, who was sitting in the playroom and reading a book to her purple dog and said.....

"Ally, what sounds yummy for dinner tonight?"

She did not respond. Instead she just kept on reading to her stuffed animal.

I repeated myself.. "Al, what sounds good for dinner tonight?"

Without missing a beat she pointed her finger at me and said..

"Not now mommy, I'm very busy!"

I couldn't help myself and busted out laughing. Hummmm I wonder where she learned that from!? This is such a great age!

CLEARLY feeling better!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Sweet Tuesday:
Sweet Tuesday passed away yesterday. Our newest angel in heaven will not be forgotten. Our hearts are with the family. I did not know them, but just can't imagine how devastating it would be to lose a child. It just breaks my heart.

Little Man Clark Update:
As of this morning I received news that he is stabilized. Jen and Brad are relieved and grateful for your prayers. THANK YOU!

Little Man Clark..

One of my best friends, Jen Murray is in the hospital with her son Clark tonight. Clark, also a quadruplet, is being transferred to a nearby hospital and admitted to the PICU. Our other quad mama bff, Suz Steece, sent me the below post to add to our blog as well. Please keep this wonderful family in your prayers. The winters are hard for parents of preemies, often scary. My heart is aching for Jen and Brad right now. I hate that we have to live so far apart. These are the times we (as friends) wish we could jump in and take over. We wish we could take away all the pain and fear, and just make it all better. If nothing else, simply wrap our arms around each other and know we are not alone.

We love you guys!

The Post...

I am updating  my blog on Jen Murray's behalf...her son Clark took a trip to the ER yesterday with respiratory distress. He has croup and was having a violent attack. Doctors were able to stabilize his breathing and after a clear x-ray, Clark was discharged.

Today, Clark began having symptoms again---coughing uncontrollably and difficulty breathing...no treatment was working, so the Murrays ended up in the ER again. Jen called to tell me that the little man is being transferred to another hospital and will be admitted into the PICU (Pediatric ICU). Clark is currently sedated and stable. Doctors believe that this is a viral infection attacking the poor little guy's lungs.

The other 3 boys have the same symptoms, but on a much milder scale. Please keep this sweet family in your prayers---especially little Clark, and I will keep you updated until Murray can get back to her computer.

Please keep the Murray fam in your prayers!
(Love you guys!)

Happy Shut In's!

We are WELL here in the McNulty house! The kids are officially on the mend! Although they are not ready to rejoin the world of the living, they are getting back to their normal selves at the speed of light. Today was a great day full of laughter, snot and coughing. As soon as our little man can do a lap around the house without gasping for air... we will be good to go!

They are back to testing boundaries, patience and my sanity! THANK GOD! Nothing makes you appreciate having healthy kids (and being healthy) like a week of scary sickness. Few!

A favorite new past time of ours is video chatting! I think our 2 year olds are more tech savy than I am! Throughout the day they commiserate with Auntie Suz, Auntie Erin (and Joey), and Grandma Deb and Papa John! I'm afraid they may just start blogging if I turn my back on them for more than a second! It's actually pretty cute and such a great way for those we love to talk to the kiddos in person.. not just on the phone.

Sweet Little Tuesday..

I do not know this family. My friend Debi shared their blog with us tonight. After simply reading the last two posts I feel compelled to share her story.

It is ironic how life has a way of kicking you in the toosh when you start to feel sorry for yourself. Here I am feeling down because we have been so sick, yet.. we are on the mend and doing great! Let's just say that after reading this families story I'm counting my blessings and praying for a miracle for this sweet little angel.

Our thoughts and prayers are with this beautiful family and we hope yours will be too. I've seen the amazing power the blog world has.

Sweet Tuesday, be brave little lady! I still believe in miracles!

Feelin' Better..

Today was a better day! The kids are still pretty darn sick - as am I. However, I think the worst is behind us and we are most definitely about to turn the corner. Amazingly, Conor is not sick, sometimes I think he has super human powers.

I had a nice talk with our doctor this morning and he agrees that things will be looking up more and more everyday. Maybe by the weekend the kids and I will be back out and tearing up the town. GOD I HOPE SO!! ;)

Thank you all for your sweet comments and thoughts. Hopefully I won't have any more updates having to do with being sick!

BIG HUGS from Quadville!

Here are some pix i took while trying to pass the time locked up inside with 4 sick two year olds and 1 sick mommy..

Pneumonia Update

Thank you all for your sweet comments, prayers and constant encouragement. You are AWESOME and we truly appreciate your love and support.

I took the kiddos to the doctor this morning. It was a good visit but a little frustrating, they haven't gotten any better!

However, they were so happy to be out of the house you'd have thought they felt like a million bucks... until you listen to their lungs, the hacking coughs, and took their temperatures. Our poor babies!! They are such busy/active kids that it's been like trying to cage wild animals! They just want to get out and play!

The doctor was just as wonderful as always and thinks that we will be on the mend by Wednesday! GOD I HOPE HE'S RIGHT! I'll be checking back with him in a couple of days and I am hopeful that we'll have nothing but good news to report!

I hope you all had a happy and healthy Monday!

Words we hate....starting with the letters "Pn"

At the end of last week Russ had arelapse. He was no longer on the mend but getting much, much worse. My gut told me he had pneumonia. I called the doctor and said, "he has pneumonia, needs stronger medication, I'm coming in."

Conor came home from work to take over with the girls. They too were increasingly sick, and not their usual selves.  We prepared for our annual hospitalization of Russell, but hoped for the best.
The minute we got to the doctor the little man perked up. He was adorable in the waiting room and the receptionist and I joked that he was faking for some one on one mommy time. Unfortunately his lungs told a different story. My mommy instinct was spot on and the little man has Bacterial Pneumonia in his left lung.

The doctor was wonderful and let me take him home, along with SEVERAL new and stronger medications. I promised I would bring him back on Monday to evaluate his progress. As long as he's was getting better he could stay home with "his girls." THANK GOD!

I brought the little guy home and he was greeted with loves and hugs from his sisters. We filled him with antibiotics, oral steroids, Tylenol, inhaled steroids and bronchial dilators. We knew we would be in for a long night of breathing treatments and cuddling... we just didn't know exactly HOW LONG!

Around midnight Libby and Ally both spiked fevers and started hacking/coughing and wheezing. We filled them with Tylenol gave them breathing treatments. By morning they were in just as bad of shape as Russell. A few hours after that, Molly followed. I called the doctor the moment the office opened and they called in the same prescriptions for the girls. Bacterial pneumonia was all around.

I don't remember the last time Conor and I were this worn out! We haven't slept since Thursday!! WOOHOOOOO!!! Yep, I think we are officially delirious! I can't be sure what the rest of this post says! LOL!

I have to say though, Conor and I have made a great team the last couple of days. We still have our sense of humor intact and tag team the ongoing regime of duties just like when the kiddos were infants. It nice to know we have each other when the going gets tough... and that we've still got it!

In fact, just this morning, while brewing some very strong coffee, I started laughing, literally out loud. Not long ago, our life was more like this...

1. Pulling an all nighter was not only easy.. but kinda cool.
2. Weekends were for sleeping in.
3. 6 am was too early to do anything let alone start the day.
4. Coffee was an occasional treat, not a necessity.
5. Snot was wiped with a Kleenex, not my bare hand and smeared on my pants.

The truth is I wouldn't trade our life for anything. Not in a million years.. not even when all for kids are screaming and sick and tired. BUT, I do think it funny when you realize JUST HOW MUCH PARENTHOOD CHANGES YOU. ;)

Well, as I reflect back on the last couple of days I'm proud to say all 6 of us survived. However, the kiddos are not quite on the mend. Not yet at least. We head back to the doctor in the morning and I'm hoping for good news all around. Please GOD, keep us outta the hospital!

Here's to a better week all around!

Planting Flowers

I took Russ to the doctor the other day for a follow up while my AWESOME Aunt Barb watched the girls. She took them on an adventure to Home Depot, Whole Foods and Baskin Robins. What a day they had!!

The girls had a fabulous outing while Russ and I had some nice one on one time together.

When we finished our doctors visit I turned to Russ and said...

"Hey Buddy, you were such a good boy today, do you want to stop for ice cream?" He paused for a moment and said, "No mommy, I want my sisters!" No, I'm not kidding.. he really said that! It melted my heart.

It's amazing how much they miss each other when we take them on one on one adventures. The bond they share is precious. When reunited after short periods apart they squeal with excitement and run towards each other, collide, and hug like they never want to let go. SERIOUSLY ADORABLE!

While at Home Depot Barb let the girls pick out their own flowers to plant. They also picked out a red one for Russ. Red is his FAVORITE color!

When the girls got home and settled, we headed out to the front yard. Auntie Barb has quite the green thumb and shared a lesson in flower planting with the kiddos. It was messy and dirty and a TOTAL BLAST!!

What a wonderful life these little ones have. They are so lucky to have so much love surrounding them. Auntie Barb, you are the best. THANK YOU!

I wasn't too much help. I was laughing too hard and pointing my camera!...

Tripdruple Threat!

With Russ on the mend and the girls feeling 99% better...

Russell and Mommy

We decided to spend the day with our favorite trio.

What do you get when you combine 2 year old quadruplets and 3 year old triplets

A "tripdruple threat" and a WHOLE LOTTA FUN!

We (Casey and I too!) played our hearts out and enjoyed every single second of our day. We didn't want the girls to leave. A short while after they left I fed the kiddos dinner and they fell asleep at the table! We TRULY had a FANTASTIC day.

We love you all so much. I can't wait for our next day together.
