Conor and Gen

5 years of love and laughter
I can't tell you how many times over the past year I've said to Conor...
"Some of my best friends live in the computer. Is that weird?!"
Jen, Suz, Mari and I have MUCH more in common than just our quadruplets. We have spent countless nights chatting online. We've helped each other through some of the best and worst of times. Without those girls, I'd have lost my mind (along with my sense of humor) a long time ago. But, up until this weekend, we'd never met!
So, how did this happen?..
Conor and I were driving (to one of his soccer games) a few weeks back when he broke the news. I'd been gushing about how much I adore these ladies, when he asked me, "Why?"
The answer was simple. "They just get me!" With that he said, "well, your going to meet them!"
"What?" "Oh MY GOSH, seriously?"
"Yes!"
I cried like a baby while grinning ear to ear. I was FINALLY going to meet my best friends for the first time! Our husbands had been chatting online (behind our backs) and decided that it would be great to send us (girls) away together. Through the process of setting a date and destination, the guys started to bond as well. In the end, they decided to make it a couples weekend.
What a fantastic idea! As we all arrived, one couple at a time, to our BEAUTIFUL rental in Lake Tahoe... the fun began. It was like the 8 of us had been friends our whole lives.
We didn't want it to end. Heading back to our families (all across the country) was bitter sweet. We couldn't wait to get back to our babies, but didn't want to say goodbye. As Jen, Brad, Mari, Chris, Suz and Joe left... we agreed, "this wasn't goodbye!" It was just the beginning.
Conor and I were the last to leave. I was so sad. On the drive home we laughed and I cried. We talked about where we've been, where we are now, and where we are headed. Our five year wedding anniversary is coming up in July. I couldn't be more proud of all the obstacles we have over come. If our marriage can survive 2 years of fertility treatment, multiple miscarriages, a quad pregnancy, and quad parenthood, then we can survive ANYTHING. Yes folks, even the teen years. Tee hee hee!
After a great weekend full of fun and laughter, we walked through the front door. The moment I saw those four little faces, my heart melted. This is what life is about... LOVE!
Have a great week everyone!
Below are some fun pictures of the weekend.

Okay today is the day that I say that I need to multiply my twins...I need to have quads so that I can have friends like that!! So glad you got girl time, guy time and couple time along with a ton a laughs I'm sure. Did you get any people to do a double take when you told them 16 kids between you all?
Suzanne
i always talk about how strange it is that some of the people i feel closest to lately are ones i have never even met. that is so wonderful that you were all finally able to get together! and it looks like you had such a fantastic time too :)
So you are the first of the 4 to post about your FUN weekend - while you all were enjoying each others company I got to play with Ben, Drew, Ethan and Savannah Steece on Sunday afternoon - I got my "baby fix" as I call it to Suzanne - I head up the Diaper Darlings who helped care for the Steece quads - Linda Gibson
Wow-what a wonderful story. So glad you all had a great time. I have been following all of your blogs for a while now.

Gen - so well put, I love it! Love you! - Mari

Hi Gen,
It looks like you had a blast!! Good job Conor-- you probably made Gen sooooo happy!
Did you guys all plan on wearing the same suit? Where did you get it? I would love one like that!
I tried commenting last night, but blogger wasn't cooperating. I think I commented what amazing hubbys you all have! When I told my guy what they did for you gals, he reassured me that No, he was not doing anything like that for me so I didn't have to worry. Nice.
So when are you all getting together again with all the kids in tow!?
On another note, I sent a little award your way. Check out my blog. I really do admire the way you handle everything with such grace and optimism! I know its not always roses and I'm sure life is not always as fun as you end up sharing with us - but you find the good in all of it and that is amazing!
I hear ya! I've made many friends online.
Love the pix of your trip and am so glad you gals had some time together.
Gen,
I love reading about your trip and know how special it was for you to meet your long lost sisters! I think it is so amazing how you found each other through blogging and have made friends for life with these awesome women (and husbands):) PRICELESS!
I am so happy the four of you got to meet each other. You will be life long friends. You girls have no idea how you have already touched my life in the past 5 months. I am so loving the potty training stories :)
Happy Anniversary!

ps I am glad to hear that I am not the only person who connected with people online and found my best friends. While I was pregnant & on bedrest with my twins, I found my soul sisters.
I have been a lurker of Jen, Suz and Mari's blogs for some time and now yours. I read some of your past postings to get familiar with your story. I can't believe how much you and Suz look a like. That is wild. Anyway, I am looking forward to more great blogs!

Gosh, reading your and the others girls posts, I am just bawling. I can imagine how awesome it was to finally meet and hang out!!!!!! I am so happy for all of you. I follow all 4 of your blogs and have for months! SO SO SO AWESOME!!!
What an amazing thing for ya'll to meet. I couldn't have made it here without the friends I have made in my mom's of multiples group. They are the only ones who can give me true advice on what to do in certain situations. Noone here has quads so I can imagine that it's so nice to have friends that TRULY understand what you are going through. I check each of your blogs daily and I bet ya'll had a bblast! All such amazing women, men and families!!
You have the best husband ever. I follow what Suz and Joe are doing so to imagine you all meeting is amazing.
I don't have 4 littlies only 2, 3 & 5yrs, but I am so jealous of you all living in the same country and being able to meet. I live in NZ and follow so many people on the blogs, I would have to make a long vacation to the USA to visit all the wonderful people I have met through blogs.
Your kids are growing so fast and are so adorable. Keep smiling and having fun and you will get through anything!
Oh how wonderful that you all got to meet. My BFF are online friends as well. There has to be something about comradarie with all our babies!
Great wonderful pictures!
Next time ... just drop me a little note and I'll come join you and be the official "photog". (that's my way of getting a great vacation ... teehee)
By the way, love all the blogs!
Tanya
Conor, that was REALLY COOL and thoughtful of you.
